(2023)The collection titled “Trust” comes one year after Trung-Tin’s completion of undergraduate degree at Pratt institute. This collection is about his move back to California from New York. The rediscovery of his place in such a sacred space inspired him to create this collection titled trust.
Trust was a word in which he told himself many times in this turbulent part of his life. Trust that he is making the right decisions, trust that better things are coming.
He attributes much of California with the unobstructed sky and while he was in New York that was what he missed the most. The collection was color driven based on the different colors in the California sky. Many of these pieces were made in locations he considered “home” from sandy beach that the sun would set into, to his grandmothers house that would host such memorable gatherings. The yarn fibers imbued with the idea of trusting that things happen for a reason created the collection that follows.
Trung-Tin is a firm believer in the saying “everything happens for a reason.”
